Rochester Youth Soccer is a volunteer run organization; that means we need your help to make this work. Here are some of the ways that you can help (though if you think of other ways that’s great too).

Coach

No soccer experience, no problem. We will help you get up to speed and feeling comfortable.

Each U6 and U8 coach receives:

Coaching workbook

DVD with great coaching tips and games

This website, which has lots of drills and links to other great coaching websites

Opportunity to attend coaching clinics throught the year

Ability to call the board if you have any questions or problems

As long as you are nice to kids then we can use you. If you look over the materials that we give you, you’ll be well prepared and can relax and enjoy the experience.

Benefits of coaching:

Spend time with your kid(s). Coaching is a great way to spend some quality time with your kid(s)

Set your own practice schedule; you have to be there anyway, might as well be there when it works out best for you.

No coaches no teams; if you don’t coach we won’t have teams.

The ability to be a positive influence in the life of the kids you coach. Not much feels better than that.

Free registration and no fundraiser required for one child.

It’s fun.

Referee

We need referees.

Here is what you can expect if you referee for us:

Training - there are several referee clinics throughout the year that give you the technical expertise that you need

Mentoring - someone will be with you for your first several games until you feel comfortable and there to ask questions of

Support - if you have any problems give someone on the board a call and we will help you

Pay - that’s right we will give you cold hard cash for refereeing for us

Fun - yes it reall is fun (good exersize too)

Is there responsibility that goes along with being a referee? Yes, but we are there to train, guide and support you.

Soccer Board

We can use your ideas and energy to help the kids in the community. Board elections are held in November.
